Does Muscle Weigh More Than Fat?
Body composition cannot be measured on the scale. I've lost 6 pounds, but I have also gone down a whole size in my clothes. That is one of the amazing benefits of strength training. Strength training tones and trims your muscles and burns away fat. You may have heard that muscle weighs more than fat, but actually a pound of fat and a pound of muscle weigh the same. The benefit is that toned muscle takes up less space. As you overload the muscle, tiny micro tears take place in the muscle and as these heal the muscle becomes stronger and more dense. There are lots of benefits of strength training. If you want to see more, check out the information from Mayo Clinic at www.mayoclinic.org/strength-training.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Ephesians 6:10.

Thank you for nailing this one! If one more person says muscle weighs more than fat I might scream. I mean the brain teaser as a kid was what weighs more a pound of feathers or a pound of bricks? Uh, a pound is a pound, same weight. The bonus of the pound of bricks or in this case muscle is that this pound requires or takes up less space, muscle is leaner. So yes strength train get lean and strong. Replace the pounds of fat , feathers, which require more space and are jiggly and fluffy!
